Description

No. 40 Main Street is an early 19th-century house constructed of red brick with a slate roof. It features two red brick gable stacks and has dentil eaves. The building is two and a half storeys tall and consists of three bays. The central doorway is fitted with a 20th-century glazing bar door, which is flanked by single glazing bar sash windows. Above, there are two similar sash windows, with a narrower central sash window. On the top floor, there are two glazing bar casements and a single central blocked window opening. All windows are topped with flat brick heads.
