Description
The Dower House is a late 18th-century house located on Main Street in Sutton Bonington. It is constructed of red brick and features a slate roof with a single ridge and an external right gable red brick stack. The building has dentil eaves and stands two storeys tall with an additional garret, comprising three bays.
The central doorway has a panelled door with a reeded surround, supported by two brackets that hold up a hood. On either side of the doorway are single glazing bar sash windows, with two similar sashes located above, all set under segmental arches. Above the doorway, there are two insurance plaques.
Projecting from the left side of the house is a two-storey, single bay red brick and slate range, which features a left red brick gable stack and dentil eaves. Each floor of this range has a single tripartite glazing bar cross casement window.
