Description

The Chaplain's House is a building that was formerly two cottages, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick, which is rendered and colorwashed, and features a hipped and gabled slate roof with deep eaves and two ridge stacks. The house has two storeys and a square plan with a rear wing, consisting of three bays.

The windows are either glazing bar or Gothick casements. On the south front, there is a central blocked opening flanked by single casements, with a slated lean-to porch to the right. Above this, there is a central blank opening flanked by single casements. The east side features a porch to the right and an adjoining outbuilding further right, with four unequally spaced casements and two doors. Above these, there are two additional casements.

On the west side, there is a door to the left and five unequally spaced casements to the right, with two casements above. The north side has a central rear wing with two casements, and to its left, there are two casements, while to the right, there is a single casement. This building is styled similarly to those in the Estate Village at Budby, which was laid out by Earl Manvers between 1807 and 1812.
