Description

Westhorpe Lodge is a house dating to the late 17th century, with significant alterations in the early 19th century and later 19th-century additions. The exterior is roughcast with stone dressings and a slate roof. It features a plinth, coped gables, and two gable and two ridge stacks. The windows are primarily glazing bar sashes with moulded surrounds. The house is two storeys high with a five-window range on the south front. The symmetrical south front has a central wing with a pedimented gable and a single sash window. Flanking this, there are two sashes to the left, the left-hand windows being smaller. A central, flat-roofed square bay window contains three plain sash windows. To the right of the wing is a 19th-century hipped bay window with round-headed sashes. To the left of the wing is a similar addition, incorporating a moulded doorcase, a six-panel door, and a fanlight. Beyond this, there are two full-height sash windows on either side.
