Description

The Buck Gates are a pair of ornamental gatepiers dating from the early 19th century. They are constructed of brick with a rendered finish, featuring ashlar dressings and lead figures. Each pier has a central round-headed opening, an impost band, and a moulded cornice. Above the piers, there is a stepped rectangular base that supports life-size figures of bucks. The gatepiers were re-sited and new figures were added in 1959.
