Description
The Trustees Savings Bank is a building that originally consisted of two houses, dating from the mid-19th century and late 18th century, which were altered in 1969 to create a single front. The structure is made of stucco with stone dressings and has a slate roof. It features a plinth, pilasters at the corners and between the third and fourth windows, and an eaves cornice. The building has three storeys and a five-window range of glazing bar sashes, each with moulded surrounds, keyblocks, and bracketed sills. Above these, there are five additional sashes with similar surrounds, cornices, and aprons. The ground floor showcases a full-width late 19th-century stucco shopfront, which was extended in a matching style in 1969. This shopfront includes panelled and plain pilasters, as well as fluted brackets supporting the cornice. On the left side, there is a three-light window next to a double door with an overlight. To the right, there is a smaller three-light window with a panelled apron, and to its right, a blocked doorway. The building is included for its group value.
