Description
46 Market Place is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and late 20th century. The building is constructed of painted brick with stone dressings and features a slate roof. It has two gable stacks and an incomplete first-floor band, along with a moulded eaves cornice, a low parapet, and coped gables. The structure is three storeys tall, plus attics, and has a three-window range of plain sashes. Above this, there are three 9-pane sashes, and above again, three box dormers with 2-light Yorkshire sashes. The shopfront, which is a full-width late 20th-century replica, includes a central door and a continuous fascia. At the rear, there is a wing with a hipped pantile roof.
