Description

This sundial, located 7 meters east of the southeast wing at Newstead Abbey, dates from the mid-19th century and is made of ashlar stone. It features a round base with two steps and a moulded octagonal plinth. The sundial has a bracketed square stem adorned with a shield and the initial 'L' on each side. The top is octagonal and holds a bronze dial that is signed "Myers, Nottingham." This sundial is included in the listing for its group value within the context of Newstead Abbey.
