Description
No. 16 Church Street is a cottage dating from the early 17th century, with extensions added in the mid-19th century and late 20th century. The building is constructed of brick and roughcast, and may contain timber framing. It features a steeply pitched pantile roof with a single coped gable and three ridge stacks. The cottage is a single storey plus attics and has three bays arranged in an L-plan.
The street-facing side has an off-centre 17th-century panelled door flanked by two casement windows. Above this door, to the right, are two sloping dormers. The gables reveal exposed tie beams and purlins. The east gable includes three casements and a single casement above, while to the right is a late 20th-century wing with four bays. The west gable features a Yorkshire sash window above.
