Description
Manor Farm Buildings are racehorse stables and barns dating from the late 18th century, with additions made in 1851, 1874, and 1878. The buildings are constructed of brick and feature plain tile and pantile roofs, with ashlar and brick dressings. They have a chamfered plinth, a first floor band, half round eaves, and coped gables with kneelers and finials. There are four ridge stacks, and the structure measures 17 bays wide by 7 bays deep, consisting of single and two-storey sections.
The front of the building features a central gabled gatehouse with a keystoned round-headed archway and flanking pilasters. This is flanked by single sash windows. To the left, there are six casements and a garage door, while to the right, there are seven casements. Above the archway, there is a round-headed recess containing a casement, flanked by three sashes. Above this, a datestone is inscribed with 'R.H. 1878'. The rear of the building has regular fenestration with sashes and casements, and similar fenestration is found above. Each side features a hoist door.
Behind the main structure, there are two quadrangles divided by a barn from the late 18th century and 1851, which has a stone plinth, cogged eaves, and a queen post roof with struts. The east side has three doors and three breathers, with a carriage arch to their right. The eastern rear range, dating from the late 18th century, has a barn with a coped gable and a through arch to the left, and to the right, there are four stable doors and two casements, mainly with segmental heads. The mid-19th century east side has six stable doors and six casements, also mainly with segmental heads. The western rear range includes a large barn from the early 19th century and 1851, with the west gable inscribed 'W.T. 1851'. The north side features an off-centre barn doorway and irregular altered lower openings, with three pitch holes above that have plank doors. The queen post roof is made of re-used timber. A single-storey stable range to the west, built in 1874, has two casements, a garage door, and four square hatches.
