Description

The Crimean War Memorial, located 70 meters southeast of the Church of St. John the Baptist in Beeston, was erected in 1857 by D. A. Chall. It is constructed from ashlar stone and features marble tablets. The memorial has a square plinth and base with a moulded top edge, topped by a textured obelisk that stands on a square corniced base. There are four inscribed tablets on the memorial. The inscriptions commemorate the inhabitants of Beeston who served in the Crimean War and died while fulfilling their duty, listing their names and dates.
