Description
The pigeoncote and attached range of outbuildings at Nornay House date from the early 19th century. They are constructed of red brick with pantile roofs. The pigeoncote features a pyramidal roof with an eaves band of headers supported by dogtooth detailing, along with a slightly projecting band of stretchers below. It has three storeys and two bays, with perch bands on the first and second floors also supported by dogtooth. The entrance has a wooden door set under a segmental arch.
To the right of the pigeoncote is a slatted opening with an overlight, also under a segmental arch, and a flight of brick and stone steps with a wooden handrail leading to the first floor of the attached two-storey barn. This barn has four bays and dogtooth eaves, featuring a single doorway, a large opening, another doorway with double doors under a blocked segmental head, and a single blocked light. Above, there is a doorway with a wooden door, a slatted opening, a large fixed light, and patterns of ventilation holes. Attached to the right is a single-storey, three-bay extension that includes a slatted opening with an overlight, flanked by doorways with stable doors.
