Description

Manor Farm Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1855, featuring rainwater heads from that year. It is constructed of red brick with some blue brick and ashlar dressings and quoins. The roof is slate with a decorated ridge and stone coped gables. There are two projecting brick and ashlar gable stacks, with blue brick diaper detailing on the sides. The building is set on a red brick plinth with a chamfered stone course above.

The farmhouse has two storeys and five bays, with the left two bays under a single gable. There is an ashlar band at the first floor level, which is lower in the gabled bays. A central gabled porch is set on a plinth with ashlar quoins, stone coping, and kneelers. The porch features an arched and traceried light with flush ashlar quoin jambs, a blue and red brick arch, and an ashlar keystone. Each side of the porch has an arched doorway with double wooden doors, while the interior doorway has a part glazed door with an arched overlight.

On either side of the porch are two ashlar cross transom and mullion sash windows. Between the two left casements is a single brick and ashlar pier. Above the porch is a central two-light sash, flanked by single three-light sashes, all with ashlar mullions. All windows have flush ashlar quoin surrounds and a blue and red brick relieving arch. In the gable apex, there is a narrow rectangular fixed light.

To the left, set back, is a two-storey, three-bay wing with a single red brick stack at the rear, a stone coped left gable, and raised eaves and first-floor bands. The doorway has a glazed door, with a single casement to the left and a narrow rectangular fixed light to the right. Above this, there are two three-light sashes with stone mullions and a single narrow sash to the right. All openings have flush ashlar quoin surrounds, except for the ground floor right opening, which has only an ashlar lintel. The rear of the farmhouse features additional two-storey wings.
