Description
East Lodge is a lodge built around 1855, constructed from red brick with some blue brick diaper patterns and ashlar dressings. It features a hipped slate roof with a single projecting stack on the left and another stack at the rear. The building is set on a red brick plinth with a chamfered ashlar course above. It is a single storey plus attic, with a single bay, and has ground floor sill and lintel bands made of ashlar.
The front includes a single canted bay window with casements, flanked by two decorated columns, a single mullion, and a flush ashlar quoin surround. Above this is a gabled half dormer with a barge board and a single 2-light casement window with a mullion and lintel. To the right, slightly set back, is a two-storey turret with a similar plinth and a shaped pyramidal roof. This turret has dog tooth eaves and a Lombard frieze underneath. It also features ground floor sill and lintel bands, with an additional similar band above. There is a single casement window with a lintel on the turret. The rear of the turret includes a doorway with decorated imposts that support an arch made of billet style moulding, with blue brick and ashlar infill. Above the doorway is an ashlar carved coat of arms.
