Description
The crew yard and attached barn range at Grange Farm dates from the early 19th century, around 1860, with some 20th-century additions for the Cust family. It is constructed of red brick. The crew yard, built around 1860, features two remaining ranges of three. The left range has a wooden arched roof, while the right range has a similarly arched corrugated iron roof. Each of the gables on the south or road front is raised and coped, with a band of dogtooth detailing below and dogtooth imposts. The left gable contains seven large arched slit ventilators, and the right gable has nine.
At the rear, there is an early 19th-century red brick barn with a concrete pantile roof and dentil eaves. This barn includes a large arched doorway with an ashlar keystone and hinge blocks, leading to double wooden doors that open into the right crew yard. Attached to the right of the barn is a lower stable wing. To the left, there is a one-and-a-half-storey stable block and two single-storey cow sheds, which date from the early and late 19th century and 20th century, featuring pantile and corrugated roofs with blocked and altered openings.
