Description
The east stable and attached outbuildings at Shireoaks Hall are a pair to the west stable and date from the early 18th century, possibly designed by Sir Thomas Hewett. The building is constructed of ashlar and coursed squared rubble, topped with a 20th-century hipped slate roof. It features ashlar dressings and moulded eaves. The main facade is two storeys high and consists of four bays. It has two glazing bar windows, one blocked opening, and one unglazed opening on the ground floor, while the upper level has four mullioned windows. The left end of the building includes a chamfered ashlar doorway with a keystone. The rear elevation features a single mullioned window above. To the left, there are later 18th-century stables that are single storey and five bays wide, built from coursed squared rubble with pantile roofs. This section includes three chamfered ashlar doorways, two doorways with timber lintels, and six windows with ashlar surrounds.
