Description
This is a range of farm buildings dating from the early 19th century. The complex is constructed of red brick, timber, and ashlar, with pantile and slate roofs.
The most prominent part is a two-storey, six-bay barn with a hipped pantile roof, dentillated eaves, and a first-floor band. The front elevation features a doorway with a wooden door under a segmental arch, a blocked doorway also under a segmental arch, and a flight of brick and stone steps with an iron handrail leading to the first floor, which covers two blocked openings - one under a segmental arch and the other an archway. Other openings include a single wooden shuttered opening, and a blocked doorway under a segmental arch. Above are two slatted openings with overlights under segmental arches, a doorway with a wooden door, a slatted opening and arch, a blocked opening under a segmental arch and a similar slatted opening and arch.
Attached to the left and set back is a single-storey, five-bay stable block with a slate roof. This has two fixed glazing bar lights alternating with two doorways containing wooden stable doors, with sills level with the door lintels, and a further doorway with a wooden door.
Projecting from the left is a one-and-a-half and two-storey red brick and pantile barn range with dentillated eaves. The one-and-a-half-storey, three-bay wing has two doorways with wooden doors, the left one under a segmental arch, and a slatted opening with an overlight above. The right gable features three rows of pigeon holes and ledges. The two-storey barn, with a hipped roof to the left, has three red brick stacks to the front. It features a large doorway with a wooden door, a blocked opening, a single glazing bar fixed light, a blocked doorway and a blocked opening. There are three slit ventilators on the ground floor and five on the first floor.
Projecting from the left is a single-storey, three-bay red brick and hipped pantile range with dentillated eaves, containing a large doorway with a sliding wooden door and a blocked opening. In the re-entrant angle between this range and the barn is a later hipped pantile wing with a doorway and a double wooden door under a blocked segmental arch. At the rear of the barn is a red brick and pantile gin gang with five sides, all blocked, one of which now contains a doorway with a large double wooden door. The buildings are included on the list for group value.
