Description
Mattersey Hill Farmhouse is a house built in the late 18th century and modified in the 20th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped pantile roof with two red brick chimneys and dentillated eaves. The building is 2 and a half storeys tall and has three bays. It stands on a plinth with a band at the first floor level. The central bay projects slightly and is adorned with a pediment that has a dentillated cornice.
The central doorway has a panelled door, a traceried fanlight, a keystone, and a moulded surround with a pediment. On either side of the doorway are single 20th-century canted bays with glazing bar sashes. Above the doorway, there are three glazing bar sashes, with three smaller similar sashes above them and a blind oeil de boeuf in the pediment.
To the right of the main structure is a later two-storey single bay extension made of red brick, featuring a hipped tiled roof, a single French window on the ground floor, and a single glazing bar sash above. To the left, facing west, there is a single-storey canted window bay with glazing bar sashes. The rear of the house also has a slightly projecting central bay, topped by a dentillated pediment with an oeil de boeuf.
