Description

8 and 9 Maltkiln Row are a pair of mill workers' cottages built in the early 19th century. They are constructed from dressed coursed rubble and feature a pantile roof with a single central red brick ridge stack. The cottages are two storeys high, plus an attic, and consist of four bays. On the ground floor, there are two Yorkshire sash windows with glazing bars, flanked by single doorways that have wooden doors. Above these, there are two more Yorkshire sash windows with glazing bars, along with a small narrow casement window to the right. In the attic, there are two gabled dormers, each containing a single glazing bar casement window. The ground and first floor openings are adorned with painted lintels.
