Description
The Greendale Oak Inn is a public house located on Budby Road in Cuckney. It dates from the late 18th century and late 19th century. The original 18th-century section is built of dressed coursed rubble with some flush quoins and a rendered plinth. It features a pantile roof and has two red brick, rendered gable stacks. The building is two and a half storeys tall with three bays. There are two sash windows on the ground floor, two glazing bar sashes above, and two small glazing bar sashes on the top floor, all with lintels.
To the right, there is a rendered two-storey 19th-century extension that has a hipped tile roof projecting over the eaves, supported by wooden brackets. This extension has a single casement window on each floor, featuring a wooden transom and mullion, with glazing bars above the transom. To the left, there is a single flight of dressed coursed rubble steps with stone coping, a 20th-century addition, which has an iron handrail. At the rear, there are further extensions from the 19th and 20th centuries.
