Description
Lecture Room Bridge 64 is an accommodation bridge built around 1774 to 1776, during the construction of this section of the Chesterfield Canal. It was designed by engineers James Brindley and Hugh Henshall. The bridge is made of brick and features squared stone coping. It has a single segmental-headed arch that includes a towpath. There is a projecting arch ring or drip mould, and springing stones are located on the south side of the arch. The bridge has swept wings that terminate in piers, and some brickwork has been renewed.
