Description

The Old Vicarage is a mid-18th century vicarage, later converted into a house. It is located on the south side of Church Lane in Hayton. Originally constructed of brick, the exterior was previously rendered. The roof is slate, and the building features three gabled front projections and a single rear wall stack, along with three further short gabled rear wings. The two-storey, four-bay main facade has a centrally positioned, Classical-style doorcase with curved brackets supporting an open pediment. Within the doorcase is a panelled door with a fanlight above. To the left of the doorcase are two glazing bar sash windows, and to the right, a single glazing bar sash window. Above, there are four glazing bar sashes.
