Description
The Former Yorkshire Bank, located at Nos 26 and 27 on the north side of The Square, is a mid-18th century building. It stands four storeys tall, constructed of chequered brick with a hipped slate roof and a modillion eaves cornice. The facade features five windows with moulded flush frames and hung sashes that include glazing bars. The ground floor has a modern shop front and modern bank windows. There is a band at the cills of the second-floor windows. The east elevation has three windows on three floors, with modern windows on the ground floor. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 18, 18A, 19, 21 to 24, the building between Nos 24 and 25, and Nos 25 to 27.
