Description
The White Hart Hotel is a building from the 18th century and early 19th century, with later additions from the late 19th century. It features a brick eaves cornice and a gable on the left side that dates to the late 19th century. The hotel has three storeys constructed in brick, with six windows, two of which are blocked at the gable, on two floors. There is a stone bond at the cills on tabs. The ground floor has five similar windows, a late 19th-century doorway, and an elliptical carriage archway. In the courtyard to the west, there are five upper windows that overhang. To the north, there are two windows and one window on a triangular build at the corner. The ground floor includes a segmental bowed window with three lights, hung sashes, and glazing bars. The Market Place elevation has three windows without glazing bars and a band at the cills on tabs. The ground floor features two windows and a modern moulded surround to the door. The hotel's name is displayed on a band between the top and first floors. It forms a visual group with the buildings at Nos 2 to 10 (even) Bridgegate, Nos 7 to 13 (consecutive) Market Place, and Nos 18 to 29 (consecutive) Market Square.
