Description

This is a pair of chest tombs located 2 metres west of the tower at the Church of St John the Baptist. They date from the mid-19th century and are made of ashlar stone, featuring an ashlar base and iron railings. The tombs have a square plan and are designed with moulded plinths and cornices, along with decorated traceried panels. The ornate cast iron railing surrounding the tombs is in a decorated style, with pierced, traceried octagonal corner piers topped with cresting. These tombs are dedicated to William Chappell and others.
