Description
This building is a barn located 50 meters east of Wansley Hall, dating from the 16th and 17th centuries. It has been restored and converted into two houses in 1980. The structure features coursed rubble and timber framing with brick nogging, topped by a steeply pitched pantile roof and a rubble plinth. There is a 20th-century ridge stack. The barn is two storeys high and consists of six bays.
On the north side, the left section has three bays with a door and three casement windows, and above it, there are three more casements. The right section has three bays supported by three posts, including a corner post with an arch brace, a door, and five casements, with five additional casements above. Both gables were rebuilt in brick in 1986.
The south side features a deep rubble plinth with nine posts, one of which has an arch brace, along with three doors and six casements. The interior includes late 20th-century block partitions and an inserted floor. The roof is a repaired double butt purlin type with some struts and wind braces.
