Description
The Old Rectory is a former rectory that has been converted into a house, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble with red brick dressings and features a pantile roof with brick coped gables and stacks. The building has an L-shaped plan and is two stories high with a three-bay front. Notable architectural details include a brick dog tooth eaves course and brick quoins. The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door with a plain overlight, flanked by single bordered sash windows. There are three similar windows on the first floor. All openings are framed with red brick quoined reveals and flat brick arches. The terrier from 1822 provides a description of this house.
