Description
Rectory Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, with some 20th-century alterations. It features colourwashed red brick and a first floor that is thickly pebbledashed, with a 20th-century mock timber framing. The roof is steeply pitched and covered with slate, featuring coped gables, decorative ridge tiles, a single ridge stack, and a single gable stack, with a coped east gable.
The building is two storeys high with a five-bay front. There is a doorway on the left with a plain 17th-century doorcase and a heavy plank door, topped by a large 20th-century bracketed hood. To the left of the doorway is a single three-light 20th-century sliding sash window, and to the right are two three-light 20th-century sliding sashes. There is an additional doorway to the right beyond the first, which has a plank door. Above, there are two three-light 20th-century sliding sashes. Inside, there is a beamed ceiling in a single ground floor room, while other beams are cased. The farmhouse is included for its group value only.
