Description
The carthouse and stables at the Old Rectory, dating from the early 18th century with 20th-century alterations, are now used as an outhouse. The building is constructed of red brick and features a steeply pitched pantile roof with coped and tumbled gables, along with a projecting, off-centre stack on the south side. It is a single storey with a garret. To the left, there is a large doorway leading to the stables, which has a 20th-century concrete lintel and double plank doors. Above this doorway, there is fixed glazing with a wooden lintel. To the left of this, a casement window with a segmental head can be found. There is also a large rectangular opening to the carthouse on the left, which has a 20th-century wooden lintel. This building is included for its group value only.
