Description

Lodge Cottage is an early 19th-century building constructed of coursed limestone rubble, some of which is painted. It features a hipped slate roof with lead dressings and a central brick chimney stack. The cottage has a single-storey, two-bay front with a lower two-bay wing at the rear. The entrance front is set back behind four timber uprights, with three wire arches in between, creating a covered way. The entrance door is planked, and to the right of it is a three-light casement window. The road elevation has two vertical sash windows, and all openings have segmental heads. This lodge is located by the park gates to Hackthorne Hall.
