Description
The stable block and carriage house at Hackthorn Hall, now used for garaging and offices, dates from the mid-19th century and has been altered in the 20th century. It is constructed of yellow brick, with coursed squared limestone on the side facing the churchyard. The building has part hipped slate roofs and a single brick ridge stack. It is arranged in an L-plan, forming two sides of a rear courtyard with the main house. The structure is two storeys high and features seven and four bay wings. An elliptical carriage arch connects the two wings. On the right side, there are two 20th-century planked double garage doors, a single light, two glazing bar sashes, and a planked door. The left wing contains two glazing bar sashes and two planked doors. On the first floor, there are three small sash openings at the eaves, and all glazing bar sashes have segmental heads. This building is listed for its group value only.
