Description

Garden Cottage is an early 19th-century cottage that incorporates materials from the earlier Hackthorn Hall and has undergone minor 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with some yellow brick dressings and features a pantile roof with a ridge brick stack. The cottage is a single storey with attics and has a four-bay front. The entrance bay is off-centre and has a full gable above it. The entrance consists of a half-glazed 20th-century door set in a recessed opening with a segmental brick arched head. To the left of the door is a single two-light metal casement window, and to the right are two similar windows. In the gable above, there is a single 20th-century two-light glazing bar casement. The cottage is listed for its group value only.
