Description

This grave marker is located at the Church of St. Michael, 14 paces from the southeast angle of the nave. It dates back to the 10th century and is made of ashlar stone. The small headstone features cable decoration along the edges and a crudely carved outlined cross on both faces. This headstone is associated with a grave cover that was listed separately and was discovered when the earlier church was demolished in 1849. It is similar to other 10th-century slabs found during excavations in Lincoln.
