Description
The crewyard at Swallow Grange, built in 1825 and altered in the late 20th century, features stables and a barn. It is constructed from white brick and topped with metal and corrugated asbestos roofs, arranged in a quadrangular plan.
The large barn is located at the north-eastern front and includes diamond-shaped breathers. It has an off-centre cart entrance with double plank doors, a round-headed cart entrance to the right also with double plank doors, and a single loft door above it. To the left, there is another cart entrance with 20th-century doors, followed by a small segment-headed doorway with a plank door and another loft door above.
To the north-east, there is a single-storey animal house range featuring 20th-century double doors on the north side, while the north-eastern front has various round-headed doorways and shuttered openings. The single-storey range on the south-west side contains stables with several segment-arched stable doorways and additional stable openings. A storage building on the south-eastern side, situated between a pair of gateways, has a blank exterior and a pantile roof.
