Description
No. 18 The Crescent is a cottage dating from the late 17th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a steeply pitched roof with a central brick ridge stack. It has a lobby entry plan and an irregular front with four bays. The entrance is off-center, featuring a planked door that is sheltered by a 20th-century gabled porch. To the left of the door is a two-light casement window with glazing bars, while to the right are a single casement and another two-light glazing bar casement. All window openings have timber lintels. On the first floor, there is a single sliding sash window set into the eaves. To the left of the main cottage is a single-storey building with one bay, and to the right is a single-storey extension added in the 20th century. Inside, the cottage contains two rooms that feature chamfered beams and exposed joists.
