Description

Greetwell Lodge, built in 1856, is a two-storey structure made of coursed limestone and ironstone rubble, with limestone ashlar detailing. It features slate roofs with stone-coped gables and finials, along with a single quadripartite ridge stack and a single projecting lateral stack. The east front has four bays and a plinth. To the left, there is a doorway with a gabled porch that opens to the east and south, supported by stone piers and pilasters with moulded bases. The porch has a four-centred east opening with an upper pointed head, decorated with foliate and floral designs.

To the right of the porch, there are two gabled bays, each containing two pointed sash windows with margin lights and rectangular hood moulds, also adorned with floral decoration. A similar pointed window with margin lights and a rectangular hood mould is located to the left of the porch. Above, there are two narrow pointed sashes with margin lights. The gable features a panel inscribed with the date "1856."

On the south side, there are two bays, with a gabled bay to the right that includes a rectangular bay window with two pointed lights, flanked by single pointed lights, all featuring margin light sashes. Above, there is a pair of pointed lights with margin light sashes, a rectangular hood mould, and foliate and floral decoration, along with a plaque displaying a coat of arms in the gable. A large projecting stack is located to the left.

The garden wall is complemented by four tall piers and two small piers that flank double wooden gates, with linking walls that feature iron railings. Each pier has a base and a moulded ashlar cap.
