Description

The barn at Westgate Farm dates from the mid-18th century and has some 19th-century alterations. It is constructed of brown brick and features a pantile roof with raised brick coped tumbled gables. The barn has a two-storey, five-bay front with a double corbelled eaves band, and the central bay projects slightly. The central entrance consists of double planked doors with a basket arch above, which is covered by a later timber pent lean-to. To the right, there is a small trap door opening, followed by a 19th-century pair of double planked doors with a flat lintel. On the first floor, there is a fixed light window on the left and a small planked door on the right, with another planked door in the gable. Beyond the main structure, there is a range of loose boxes. Inside, the barn features a staggered butt purlin roof. It is listed for its group value only.
