Description

Wapping Lane Farmhouse and the attached outbuilding consist of two cottages that have been converted into a farmhouse, dating from the late 18th century with some 20th-century alterations. The building is constructed of red brick and features a steeply pitched pantile roof with coped tumbled gables and gable stacks. It is two storeys high with a garret and has a two-bay front that includes a first-floor band and decorated eaves.

The central doorway has a segmental head and a partially glazed door, which is sheltered by a 20th-century corrugated plastic porch. To the left of the doorway, there is a blocked doorway with a segmental head, followed by a casement window, and another casement to the right of the doorway. On the upper floor, there are two casement windows, all featuring segmental heads.

The attached outbuilding, which includes a pigeoncote, hen-house, and other structures, is set back to the left and is also two storeys high with a garret. It has a four-bay front that is irregular in design, with a doorway on the left that has a segmental head, flanked by a single shuttered opening, while the right opening is only partially glazed, both also with segmental heads. There is a 20th-century lean-to on the right, with a flight of steps leading up to a doorway that is covered in netting. Additionally, there is a partially blocked opening to the left, also covered in netting and featuring a segmental head, and a glazed fixed window inserted to the left. The west return gable has coping and stepped openings for pigeons.
