Description
Nettleham Fields Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in 1796. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, with painted ashlar dressings and coursed limestone rubble on the sides and rear. The roof is covered with concrete tiles and features a stone kneeler, one gable stack, and one ridge stack. The building is two stories tall with attics and has a three-bay front that includes an ashlar plinth and a dogtooth eaves course.
The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door with a traceried fanlight, surrounded by panelled wood reveals and architraves. This is sheltered by a metal latticed porch with an ogee canopy, designed in the Gothick style. Flanking the door are single Venetian glazing bar sash windows, which have fanlights above the taller central panels. On the first floor, there is a central glazing bar sash window with a traceried semi-circular head, flanked by single Venetian windows. The windows feature key and impost blocks made of painted wood.
In the roof, there are two tripartite dormer sashes with rendered cheeks and flat lead roofs. To the right of the main structure is a lower service wing that includes a glazing bar sash window and a planked door. To the left of the front, there are two 20th-century added bays that are in separate occupation and not included in the listing.
The rear elevation, made of coursed squared limestone rubble, has a two-story canted bay with glazing bar sashes. To the right, there is a six-panelled door with a traceried fanlight and a plain stone surround with a key block. Further along, there is a window with two fixed lights and a cambered head, featuring voussoirs and a key block. On the first floor, there is a similar single window, with a second window to the left that has a semi-circular head and key block.
