Description
Manor Crest is a house dating from the mid-17th century, with additions and alterations made in the mid-19th century and late 20th century. The house is constructed of coursed squared stone with ashlar quoins and dressings, and has a steep-pitched slate roof. Brick stacks rise from the single ridge and gable. The front elevation is two storeys high with a four-window range. Most windows are from the 19th century, featuring stone surrounds, chamfered mullions and cast-iron diamond-pane glazing. A plaque displaying the Gregory arms is centrally positioned, flanked to the left by a single-light window and a two-light window, and to the right by two two-light windows. A central 19th-century board door is set within a moulded surround and cornice, and is flanked to the left by a single-light window and to the right by a three-light window. Further to the right are a three-light and a two-light window, followed by a board door and a single-storey addition. At the rear, a two-light and a three-light window are flanked by single-light windows; the right-hand single-light window is set lower and is blocked. Below these, three three-light windows feature cornices, with a stone doorway altered to create a French window on the right-hand side. The left return has a 17th-century three-light first-floor window, characterised by ovolo mullions.
