Description
Seven headstones located 10 metres south of the chancel at the Church of All Saints date from the first to third quarter of the 18th century and are made of limestone. They commemorate members of the Jenkinson or Jenkinton family.
To the left are two small flat-topped stones; the first features a mask and scrolls, while the second has cherubs and a fielded panel below, although both inscriptions are illegible. The larger third stone has a segmental head with three cherubs and an inscription in a cartouche dedicated to Mark Jenkinson, dated 1770. The fourth stone, with an arched top, includes a cherub and a raised panel inscribed to Mark Jenkinton, which is undated. The fifth stone has a segmental head and an elaborate scrolled cartouche in high relief, inscribed to Jane Jenkinson, dated 1713. The narrower sixth stone features shouldered scroll brackets, crests, and a coat of arms, dedicated to Mark Jenkinton, dated 1746. The seventh stone has a segmental head with a shallow cartouche and is inscribed to Jane Jenkinson, dated 1768.
