Description

Nos 16 and 17 All Saints’ Street are a late 18th or early 19th century building of two storeys and attics, constructed of coursed rubble. The roof is a Mansard style, covered with stone slates and features four dormers. Number 17 has double-hung sash windows with glazing bars. Nos 16 and 17 each originally contained two or three windows, though one at No. 17 is now blocked. The windows have rough stone surrounds and keystones, with double-hung sashes and glazing bars (in No. 17). Stone quoins are visible. A modern shop front has been added to No. 17. No. 16 has two windows that lack glazing bars, and a modern flank door with a rectangular fanlight. A continuous stone band runs along the cills of the windows. The building forms a group with Nos 14 to 17 (inclusive) and the gateway to the Sir Malcolm Sargent School.
