Description
This house, located directly opposite The Old Rectory and to the east of Irene House, dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and limestone ashlar, topped with slate double ridge roofs featuring ashlar gable stacks. The building is two storeys high and has a three-bay front with a plinth and a first-floor band.
The central doorway has a fielded panelled doorcase, an ashlar lintel, a traceried overlight, and a deep-set, partially glazed door. On either side of the doorway are single glazing bar sashes, with three glazing bar sashes above, all featuring slight segmental heads and ashlar surrounds.
The east side of the house has four bays, with two glazing bar sashes to the right, and a semi-circular headed casement with Y tracery to the left, which is topped by a semi-circular ashlar lintel. Beyond this is a plain sash with a segmental head. Above, there are two semi-circular headed casements, also with semi-circular ashlar lintels and Y tracery. A similar window is found on the first floor on the west side.
