Description
Home Farmhouse, now a house, and the adjoining boundary wall were built in the early 18th century, with some alterations made in the 19th and mid-20th centuries. The farmhouse is constructed of coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings and features a steeply pitched slate roof from the 19th century. It has two brick stacks at the rear, quoins, dentillated eaves, and coped gables with kneelers and finials. The openings are topped with stone lintels. The building has two storeys plus attics and a three-window range. Most windows are mid-20th century glazing bar casements. The central entrance bay projects and has a coped gable with a two-light window, and above it, a smaller similar window. The entrance features a renewed six-panel door with two glazed panels. On either side of the entrance, there are three-light windows, and below them, larger three-light cross casements. The left gable has a blank wall on each floor. Inside, there is said to be an early 18th-century staircase with twist balusters. To the right of the farmhouse, there is a coursed squared stone boundary wall with slab coping, approximately 40 meters long. Next to the house, there is a doorway, and to the right, a gateway leading to the former farmyard.
