Description
No. 47 is a farmhouse built in the mid-18th century, with some minor alterations from the late 19th century. The structure is made of coursed local limestone rubble and features raised coped gables along with three brick gable stacks. It has flush ashlar quoins and is designed in a T-plan.
The street facade includes a mid-20th century glazed porch over a central doorway that has a part-glazed panel door. On either side of the doorway are single plate glass sash windows in their original frames, which are surrounded by flush ashlar. Above the doorway, there are three similar windows. The rear wing was raised in the late 19th century. The ground floor features a four-panel door in a flush ashlar surround, with a large three-light cross casement window with glazing bars to the right, also in a similar surround. Above this, there are two later two-light casements. There are single-storey outbuildings beyond the main house, topped with a pantile roof.
