Description
Six headstones located 15 metres south of the chancel at the Church of All Saints date from the mid and late 18th century and the early to mid 19th century. They are made of slate and ashlar. On the left, there are four slate stones with shouldered arched tops. The first stone features an incised figure and is by J Neale, commemorating James Dorr, who died in 1798, and Elizabeth Dorr, who died in 1833. The second stone has an incised urn and elaborate script dedicated to William Dorr, who died in 1795. The third stone, also with an urn, is for John Dorr, who died in 1801. The larger fourth stone depicts an angel and is dedicated to Eleanor Dorr, who died in 1804. The smaller fifth stone is made of ashlar, has a segmental head, and commemorates William Dorr, who died in 1845. The sixth stone is slate with a flat head and was made by G Sparrow for John Nelson, who died in 1763.
