Description

Ayrshire House Hotel is a house that has been converted into a hotel, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of blue lias stone with a red brick front and features a slate roof with stone-coped gables, kneelers, and brick gable stacks. The building is 2½ stories tall and has a four-bay front. The entrance is off-center and includes a wooden doorcase with narrow reeded pilaster strips, a plain fanlight, and a small open pediment above a six-panelled door. To the south, there is a single two-storey semi-circular bay, while to the north, there are two two-storey semi-circular bays, each containing two tiers of plain sash windows. The eaves are dentillated, and the bays have hipped roofs. Above the entrance, there is a single plain sash window, along with four small plain sash windows above.
