Description

House located at 56 Main Road, built in the early 19th century, features chequered red and cream brick with a pantiled roof that has a single ridge and gable stack. The building is two storeys plus a garret and has a four-bay front with a brick band at the first floor. The off-centre doorway includes a plain doorcase, a rectangular overlight with three panes, and a panelled door. To the left of the doorway are three glazing bar sash windows, with three similar windows above on the first floor. All windows have segmental brick heads. The house is attached to the north of No. 54, which was built in 1850, and has had alterations including painted stucco splayed lintels with raised keystones added to some of the windows.
