Description
This chest tomb, located 5 metres north-west of the Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul, was created in 1927 by Sir Edwin Lutyens for Adelbert Cust, the 5th Baron Brownlow, of Belton House. It is made of Portland stone and slate and features a cruciform shape with a moulded base and cornice, resting on a cove-moulded plinth. Each side of the chest displays inscriptions and a coat of arms in relief. The top is covered with an incised slate slab.
