Description
The remains of a pigeoncote located in the Belton Estate Woodyard date from the mid-18th century. This structure is built of brick with ashlar dressings and was originally topped with a pantile roof, but it now stands as a roofless ruin. The pigeoncote has a square plan, with two walls remaining at right angles to each other. These walls feature tiers of brick corbelled flight shelves and nest boxes. One side includes a segment-headed recess and a flat-headed doorway. Additionally, there is a lean-to addition on the outside, which also has a pantile roof.
